The steering wheel isinstalled on the steering column. The housing is adjust-able and is held in position by a latch. The position of thehousing can be changed for different operator require-ments. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.Remove the rear cover for the steering housing. Removethe instrument cluster. Remove the front cover for thehousing.2. Put tags for identification on the hydraulic hoses at thesteering control unit so that they can be connected cor-rectly during assembly. Disconnect the hydraulic hosesat the bottom of the steering control unit. Install plugs atall hose ports to prevent dirt from entering the steeringhydraulic system.3. Remove the nuts that hold the steering column and thecontrol unit to the bracket. Remove the steering columnand the control unit.4. Remove the parts from the housing as necessary.STEP 1.Install the steering column and steering controlunit in the bracket. Install the steering wheeland nut. Install the latch on the bracket,using the pin and cotter pin. Install the bracket on the mountwith the pivot shaft and spring. Install the plates and cap-screws that hold the bracket to the shaft. Install the spring,washer and rod for the latch. Install the knob on the latch.Install the allen screw and nut.STEP 3.Install the instrument cluster on the frontcover. See the sectionINSTRUMENTCLUSTERand make the necessary wir-ing connections. Install the covers onthe bracket.
