Disconnect the linkages and wires at the control valvefor the transmission. Disconnect the inching linkage atthe transmission mount. Disconnect the wires at the trans-NOTEThe engine and transmission can be re-mission.moved as an assembly. The following pro-cedures are for removal of the transmis-B. Dis-DISASSEMBLYconnect the oil lines at the transmission and the hydraulicpumps. Put tags for identification on the lines. Put caps A. Disassemble the parts of the transmission as follows:on the openings. Drain the oil from the transmission.Remove the filler tube for the transmission.1. Remove and disassemble the torque converteras described in the procedures for the TorqueD. Disconnect the drive shaft at the transmission.Converter.E. Put blocks under the flywheel housing to hold theengine. Install a sling to the transmission mount.2. Remove and disassemble the inching clutch asdescribed in the procedures for the Inching Clutch.B. Disassemble the transmission as follows:1. Disassemble the main case and main cover forthe H360-620B units as shown in Figure 2.2. Disassemble the main cover and main case forthe H360-650C units as shown in Figure 3.3. Disassemble the clutch assemblies as shown inFigure 4.CAUTIONMake a mark or put a tag on each bear-ing cup and cone for proper identification. Many of the bearings are similar. It isimportant that they are installed in thecorrect locations during assembly.NOTEBefore disassembly, check the clearanceof the bearings for the shafts with a dialindicator. See Figure 6.WARNINGMake sure any lifting device can hold 675kg (1 500 lb).F. On units with a Detroit Diesel 6V-53 engine, removethe adapter for the oil filter on the engine. Remove theplug in the flywheel housing (see Figure 1). Remove thecapscrews that hold the drive plates for the torque con-verter to the flywheel.G. Remove the capscrews that hold the transmission tothe flywheel housing.H. Hold the transmission in position with the sling andcrane. Remove the capscrews that hold the mount tothe flywheel housing. Remove the capscrews that holdthe mount to the frame.I. Lift the transmission and mount from the frame.J. Disconnect the oil lines from the inching valve. Re-move the mount from the transmission.FIGURE 2. DISASSEMBLY OF THE MAIN CASE AND MAIN COVER, H360 -620B (Sheet 1 of 3)FIGURE 2.
